Craft Fair Weekend! Saturday October 26th & Sunday October 27th. 

Open for our regular 2 hour Dora Canal Tours, 1 hour Sunset Cruise and also some special 1 hour Festival Tours. These 1 Hour Festival Tours will Cruise down past the Mount Dora Lighthouse and boardwalk and into Lake Beauclair. Chance to see Bald Eagles, different types of water birds and the toothy Alligator!

The hot months of summer are now behind us and that also means that the days get a little shorter! Because of that we have removed the 4:30pm Dora Canal Tour from our daily schedule. Please see our up-to-date schedule below.

 

 

 SUMMER TIME TOURS

May has quickly arrived and so with it some of our summer warmth. Fortunately, there is almost always a breeze out on the lake (And if there is not, then the boat moving will create an artificial one)

Evening Sunset Cruises are a great way to see some of our lakes when the sun is less high in the sky. We cruise from our base at Lakeside Inn, past the lighthouse and Mount Dora boardwalk and through the small canal that leads to Lake Beauclair. Large houses and properties line the shoreline and often our wildlife sits in and around them, Bald Eagles, Great Blue Herons, Anhingas and Ospreys are all common sightings. Departing currently at 7:15pm and moving slightly later every week until mid June. 

May and June are also fantastic months to see everything the Dora Canal has to offer:

• Baby/Juvenile Herons and Anhingas, starting to explore away from the nest.
• Large and small Alligators soaking in the sunshine
• Turtles lounging on the cypress knees
• Plants along the canal in bloom (spider lily, purple pickerel weed, sleeping hibiscus and many others)
• Snakes, mostly non venomous water snakes are spotted and shared by your Captain and Crew

 

 SPRING TIME TOURS - Extra 4:30pm Dora Canal Tour

A fantastic time of year to see what the Dora Canal and Harris Chain of Lakes has to offer. We are currently (March 2024) seeing: 

• Alligators (Big & Small)
• Bald Eagles (including juveniles)
• Turtles (Yellow belly, Cooter, Florida Soft Shell & even Alligator Snapping)
• Great Blue Herons (including juveniles)
• Anhingas (Mostly nesting)
• Wood Storks
• Wood Ducks (Only from a distance)
• Smaller Herons (Blue, Tri-color & Green)

The trees and plants are all springing into action and greening up for the spring and summer. 

4:30pm Dora Canal Tour is a great way to see the canal at what is currently the warmest part of the day. Everything likes to come out and display itself. (Up until Saturday March 9th, this tour will also take in the Sunset while travelling back across Lake Dora)

In town for the Art Festival and need a break from the crowds. Join us for a Boat Tour. Call or drop in to our Boat House at the Lakeside Inn to book. Don't forget to grab a drink from the Waterside Bar on your way down.

 

 

Thanksgiving will be here sooner than you know it! 

We start our Christmas Cruises the Saturday after Thanksgiving. This year our Christmas Cruise on Saturday November 25th will also incorporate a Fireworks Display by the City of Mount Dora. See the picture below for information on the Christmas and Fireworks Cruise.

 As of the end of September 2023, our 'New Rates' will come into effect. The rates that are currently on the website, are the New Rates. If you go on a tour before the end of September 2023, you will pay our current rates. Which are a few dollars less.

 

The month of May on Lake Dora and the Dora Canal

One of my favorite months as there is so much to see and the full heat of the summer is not here yet. Oh, also the afternoon thunderstorms have not started yet!

All types of Herons, some still have babies.

Water Plants, all blooming.

The are less other boaters around than in the Spring.

Late afternoon tour of the Dora Canal has been added for the month of April. Departing at 4:30pm and returning at 6:30pm. Great time of the day to be out on the lake before Dinner in Downtown Mount Dora.

Join us for our Christmas Sunset Cruise, departing at 5pm from the dock at Lakeside Inn. This one hour seasonal tour will cruise on Lake Beauclair to enjoy the natural beauty and sunset. Returning to Lake Dora to view the Christmas lights display of the Mount Dora Marina. Enjoy hot apple cider, Christmas cookies and festive music while on board our luxury, all weather pontoon boat.

Starting Saturday November 27th and running every evening through to Christmas Eve, departing at 5pm.
